TaitungLuye is located at the intersection of the Beinan River and Luye river on the south side of East Rift Valley. It has obvious river terrace terrain. When you come to the confluence of the two streams, you can see the exposed rock formations of the coastal mountains after erosion. From this, we can understand the original underground strata and how it's lifted by orogeny serving as an excellent outdoor geology lesson. This light trip starts with a route that shuttles between different platforms in Luyeand ends at Guanshan township on the north side of Luye. Throughout the bicycle trip, you can experience the slope's sensitivity and feel the rift valley's beauty. In this way, riders can board the Luye highland and look forward to the farmland, tea gardens, valleys, and rivers. You can also use the Guanshan Huan Zhen bicycle path to walk along Guanshan Canal to understand how farmers use natural resources to cultivate high-quality Guanshan rice in their fertile fields. This itinerary is recommended to be divided into two days. On the first day, start from the Luye bicycle path, and extend the route to the adjacent Yanping Township, visit the hometown of the Taitung Red Leaves, and then stay overnight at the B&B in Longtian Village. On the second day, visit Luye shrine, Longtian Green Tunnel, and then ride to Luye highland.
