Sandiaojiao is the headland in the northeast of Taiwan and the extreme east point of the island. In the past, the snow-capped mountains extending westward with Sandiaojiao was an obstacle to Taipei's journey to Yilan. The ancestors used the Tamlan Ancient Road system to travel. It was not until 1924 that the Caoling Tunnel was penetrated, and the two places began to have railway transportation. The tunnel built that year was later replaced by a new tunnel, and the old tunnel became part of the bicycle lane of the old Caoling ring line. With the old tunnel connection, you can ride around the Sanmiao Corner and understand the evolution of North Taiwan during the wind control process. Also, since most of this route is a bicycle lane, you can enjoy the scenery of the Northeast corner coast, so it is very suitable for most people to ride.

Precautions

There are many tourists in the Old Caoling Tunnel during holidays, and there will be situations such as temporary stops to take pictures. Be sure to pay attention to safety when riding.
Sandiaoling Lighthouse is located on the cape, and you need to climb a steep slope to reach it. Those who are not good at climbing on bike can lock their bicycles at the foot of the mountain and then walk to the destination.
If you are going by car, bring your bicycle to Fulong parking lot to begin your regional cycling journey.
