Two Day Tour in Ershui, Jiji, Shuili, Yuchi, and Sun Moon Lake
From the southeast side of the Changhua plain and the south side of the Bagua Plateau, along the north bank of the Zhuoshui creek to the east, after passing through Mingjian Township and Jiji township in Nantou county, turn north at Shuili township towards Sun Moon Lake, Yuchi township, and Puli township. It is a belt-shaped scenic spot in central Taiwan that is very suitable for bicycle travel. From the perspective of bicycle lanes, Ershui bicycle path, and Jiji Green Tunnel, you can enjoy cycling leisurely; in terms of train features, walk along the Jiji line railway, and enjoy the rural scenery at the same time; to understand the use of hydrology and water conservancy and Taiwan's hydraulic power from the historical point of view of power generation. There is Pa-Pao-Chun, water is diverted from the Zhuoshui creek to irrigate the Changhua plain. A hydroelectric power plant also collects water from the Zhuoshui creek to generate electricity at Sun Moon Lake. This itinerary starts from the bicycle-friendly Ershui Station and goes along the Ershui bicycle path. At the same time as the train on the JijiGreen Tunnel, it visits Pa-Pao-Chun to learn about the stories behind it. After arriving at Mingjian, turn to Taiwan county highway 152 to enter Jiji tunnel and visit the historic Jiji Station in Jiji township, then cross the Zhuoshui creek and continue eastward from the south bank, then turn back to Shuili township on the north bank, and come to the end of the Jiji line - Checheng, where you can visit the old street. Consider taking a street tour of the railway park and the wood industry exhibition hall to learn about this mountain city once famous for its logging industry. Afterward, follow county road 131 which used to be a light railway, pass by the Mingtan and Daguan Power Plants, and finally come to Daoyuchi to rest for a night. On the second day, first visit the hometown of black tea - the Sun Moon Old Tea Factory, and then round the lake at Sun Moon Lake, continue along county road 131 to Puli Town Transit Center to end the two-day and one-night itinerary.
